It's my pleasure to write a short review regarding on using this small pocket dictionary. I got it a week ago.

If you're learning English and want definitions which are clear and concise,
in a handy - sized book you can keep it with you at all times.

It provides you some good features like this:

= Over 30,000 references

= Pronunciation at each entry.
[ It makes a difference. I have other two small pocket dictionaries. They don't give a phonetic transcription.]
I 'm not having hurdles to pronounce words. When I learn a word, I can read a transcription of a word ]

= Uptodate vocabulary.

= help with grammar

= help with irregular spellings

= many examples of usage.

[ It provides you key to phonetic symbols, common irregular verbs and writting spelling of words ]

Here a few examples of writting spelling of words

The first letter is silent:

wh- is sometimes spoken as /h-/ as in who, whole
wr- is spoken as /r-/ as in write, wrist
kn- is spoken as /n-/ as in knife, know

Also:
ps- is spoken as /s-/ as in psycology.
pn- is spoken as/n-/ as in pneumonia

The second letter is silent:
wh- is sometimes spoken as /w-/ as in which, whether
gu- is sometimes spoken as /g-/ guest, guess
gh- is spoken as/g/ ghastly, ghost

Also:
b- is sometimes spoken as /b-/ as in build, buoy

The first two letters have a special sound

ph- is spoken as /f-/ as in photo
qu- is spoken as /kw-/as in quick
ch- is spoken as /k-/as in chorus

Remember:

c- can be /k-/ as in call or /s-/ in centre
g- can be/g-/ as in good or/dz-/ as in general

/dz-/ is pronounced as in ' June'

It also gives you to pronounce primary and secondary stresses.

Could you please me explain primary and secondary stresses.?
or just try to stress on that particular alphabet where primary and secondary stresses are marked.

Go and buy this dictionary, you'll enjoy to learn new words. It's up your street.

At last I would like to thanks to my friend who sent me this dictionary from canada by post. I appreciate your help with my all heart.

In a nutshell, you can consider it a micro copy of a big dictionary.
