Poverty and accent

Is there nothing out there? I'm more and more convinced that "Celtic" is less a culture and more of a religion.

It stopped being a culture about two thousand years ago. The religion seems to have 'hate English' as its central tenet.

I really don't care. Some people are mature, some are not. Some have excuses for being immature, others have a good upbringing and education and still act like children.

J,

That's besides the point. It's your principle if you treat everyone with respect and honesty, no matter how they behave. How old are you? Are you also just about to take GCSEs? What do you do for a living? I'm the only one here who's forthcoming with information regarding my age and profession.

I meant to say "beside" not "besides"

I am twenty. I am a philosopher.

The devil will find work for idol hands...

Or people who can't spell...

Philosopher is the most respectable profession I can think of that might describe how I spend my days.
Rupert   Friday, November 29, 2002, 13:25 GMT
I cannot believe a philosopher chooses Brunel as the third greatest Briton.
J   Friday, November 29, 2002, 13:29 GMT
Why, who else should be third? Lennon perhaps, oh what great insights he lead us to........!
Simon   Friday, November 29, 2002, 13:31 GMT
What's the least respectable profession you can think of then?
J   Friday, November 29, 2002, 13:32 GMT
Bum. (Is it a profession? I suppose it takes alot of skill and experience.)
Rupert   Friday, November 29, 2002, 13:36 GMT
Two least respectable professions I can think of:

A mathematician who cannot prove theorems.

A theoretical physicist who cannot beat God.
Simon   Friday, November 29, 2002, 13:38 GMT
What you do with your life is your own business. But with your intelligence there have to be more creative things you can do with it (and more lucrative things) than being a philosopher.

I used to be a philosopher. I know.

If you believe in a god why did you become a theoretical physicist? It is akin to a vegetarian becoming a butcher.
