Does anyone know of any good British-English grammar websites (or books)? I have tried to look for internet sites, but it is so hard to get an English-language grammar in English. So, I think that I am going to look for English grammar in French.

Are you looking for a formal English grammar that's written in stuffy language and is used by linguists or something more practical that's more like "English usage"?

The best English usage reference I know is Michael Swan's "Practical English Usage". It is written for English learners and is focused mainly on British English.

For a formal English grammar, the most famous one would be Randolph Quirk's Comprehensive English Grammar.

Do you know of any internet resources for British grammar? I tried looking, but I could not come up with anything very satisfactory.
