Deborah Apparently egg yolks do the same thing to you as milk products.... And it's my favourite part of an egg..... Why, oh, why??????

Well, sometimes the most unappetizing things can be delicious. In Russia, I saw a plate of something that looked like linoleum paste, that turned out to be sunflower seed halva. It was yummy.

this may sound strange, Deborah, but I've actually chewed sunflower seeds, and they are quite nice.

Andre, I like sunflower seeds too, and I liked the sunflower seed halva, in case that wasn't clear. But the color was pretty unappetizing -- kind of a dark, slightly brownish grey, and it was just sitting in a heap that looked rather like the photo that Sander provided to curb your appetite.

Sinterklaas? What a wierd Père Noël! :)

You got me thinking there, Deborah, strange that we don't do more with sunflower seeds in food here, we have millions of them.... Will have to check
Now, they want to make petrol/gas out of them.... :/

Wow, that really is too bad! At least I can eat eggs. I read about a girl whose allergies puzzled doctors for quite awhile. She was constantly suddenly developing an allergy some food that she'd had no problem with before. Then the same thing would happen with another food. I don't remember the scientific explanation of her problem, but in simple terms, she was simply allergic to food. If she ate any food often, she developed an allergy to it. So it turned out she could eat anything, as long as she didn't make a habit of it. That would have been a miserable situation had she lived in some part of the world where she couldn't have a great variety of foods, but fortunately she lived in a situation where her family could accommodate her needs. |
