U.S State Songs

Chelsea   Thursday, June 09, 2005, 18:02 GMT
I'm looking for vocal (possibly choral) versions of the 50 US state songs in mp3 format. I found some at the following site: www.nationalanthems.us , but I'm still missing a lot and most links on the mentioned website don't work. Can anyone help me?
By the way, I would also care for piano sheet notes of them...
Thanks a lot

I don't think I've ever even heard the California state song (that I'm aware of)...the only real official "state" thing I think everyone's familiar with here is the state flower, the California Poppy, because they're bright and grow all over. Maybe I can do a google search and find something for you in terms of a song...

So each American state has its own official soil?

How many songs are there with American States in the title? I can only think of two of hand without checking:

California here I come
Deep in the heart of Texas

typo last post: off hand

ADAM: I guess every US State has it's own soil...whether official or not ...it's pretty essential isn't it? What do you think they stand on? Candy floss? :-)

It would make sense if California had two officials languages, English and Spanish.

On, Wisconsin! (Official State Song)
Written by J. S. Hubbard and Charles D. Rosa
Composed by William T. Purdy

On, Wisconsin! On, Wisconsin!
Grand old badger state!
We, thy loyal sons and daughters,
Hail thee, good and great.
On, Wisconsin! On, Wisconsin!
Champion of the right,
"Forward", our motto
God will give thee might!"

Does anyone actually know these songs? I never heard of "I Love You California."

I love this rhyme -- it's so contrived:

"I love your old gray Missions - love your vineyards streteching far,
I love you, California, with your Golden Gate ajar"
zarafa   Friday, June 10, 2005, 22:06 GMT
streteching = stretching (the type was in the original)

I particularly enjoy New York's. Check out the last two lines above "I love New York."

I LOVE NEW YORK
(repeat 3 times)

There isn't another like it.
No matter where you go.
And nobody can compare it.
It's win and place and show.
New York is special.
New York is diff'rent' cause there's no place else
on earth quite like New York and that's why

I LOVE NEW YORK.

I think the funniest thing about NY's song is the direction to "repeat 3 times." That's a real budget song.
