Cumbric should be revived, and could be with a large support
Damian from Edinburgh   Monday, June 13, 2005, 10:18 GMT
**Cumbric should be revived, and could be with a large support **

The biggest obstacle for this great idea in Cumbria, in England's extreme north west corner, is overcoming apathy and disinterest...that's the problem down there in "England's" extreme south west corner but at least there does seem to be a dedicated group of people there labouring away at stimulating enthusiasm for the revival of Cornish. Without checking out I don't really know how well established is the Cumbrian Revival movement.

"The biggest obstacle for this great idea in Cumbria....."

Damian! Whoever said that the Cumbric language was solely confined to Cumbria?
Cumbric was spoken as far South as Cheshire and Derbyshire!
I'm from Lancashire and it's also my ancestral language too!!!
It's also Kevin's!
It may even be yours given the complicated history of Cumbric!
Alan to Kevin   Monday, June 13, 2005, 11:11 GMT
