I'm sure Natalie Herschlag a.k.a. Portman speaks Hebrew. Almost all of the US Jews do.

Well, maybe I exaggerated a little bit, but I almost all of the Jews that I know (and I know many of them because there are many in my school) speak at least some Hebrew.

OK, I guess I think of "speaking" a language as being more fluent than just speaking "at least some" of that language, which is why I questioned your statement.

I think Jews have to learn some Hebrew for their bar/bat mitzvah, but I really don't think that most are fluent (excepting Israelis, of course).

I've read that Natalie Portman is fluent in Hebrew, though.

I've heard that she speaks french fluently. But I never heard her speaking french.
I don't but I think in "Leon"(in the french version) she was dubbled, In don't know if she dubbled herself.
