The Arabic problem

Whilst there may be many dialects of Arabic, a lot of are mutually intelligible.

Also MSA is standard Arabic used for work and education. And its influence is increasing as more Arabs become educated.

Finally Arabic has already has a huge influence spoken in 22 countries and has a religious significance for at least 1.2 billion people.

Therefore, it may not be a worldwide language; in truth, only English can really takes this crown. But it does not make Arabic any less significant.
