Why do the singers at ESC always sing English songs?

i'm just curious....

Finnish,Swedish,Norwegian,Icelandic,Danish bla bla bla singers always sing English songs, not sing in their mother tongue at Eurovision Song Contest.....

Does it give us the message that those people in those countries have lost their culture?

They want to be understood by as many peeps as possible to harvest more votes. It's a commercialised bastardised globalised raunch-fest.

I would prefer their singing in their respective languages, since, many times, their pronunciation of English is nothing to write home about...From this years contestants only the Norwegian entry had good English pronunciation.

English is 'cool' and popular amongst the teens who are the prime audience.

Why did the official logo for the 2006 World Cup in Germany read World Cup 2006 instead of Fußball-Weltmeisterschaft 2006?
