I am doing well vs I am doing quite well!

I said to one of my American pals: "How you doing?"

He replied: I am doing quite well.

I asked the same greeting to one of my other friends:

He replied: I am doing well.

I wonder if is there any difference in meaning between those two replies?

Thanks.

"I am doing quite well" is stronger than "I am doing well".

''I'm doing good.'' is what I hear.
