It will be better to give Germany the German speaking region(including Welkenraedt and Beho-Boholtz areas) in East Belgium.

Freedom for Quebec!

Arlon area (Arelerland), it will be better to give to Luxemburg.

The same language dictatorship exists in Quebec. Maybe Flemish are just copying the Quebec language system?
Guest   Tue Dec 16, 2008 9:55 pm GMT
Catalan speakers are also equally paranoid about their language as Quebecers.

The main problem is caused by the social system in Belgium. Flamish are tired to pay for inefficient (but very proud) Walloons.
whorette   Wed Dec 17, 2008 6:32 pm GMT
There are inefficient people among the Flemish and among the Walloons.

____

That´s true, and the social systems should work so that Flemish help Flemish and Walloons help other Walloons - that´s simple ....

Rich Alberta is giving money to poor Quebec to buy its obedience to Ottawa.

Quebec will be the next superpower.

As a Frenchman, I totally support Quebec's independentists. Quebec is a great nation and its citizens's right to protect their language must be repected.

Vive le Québec libre !

And, by the way, what Walloons need in order to be efficient is the reunion with France, where unemployed people ARE encouraged by the state to find a job and where people DO have to work to live . This culture of laziness in Wallonia is fostered by the dominant corrupt Walloon politicians. Even if the Flemish's exasperation is understandable, the fact that the second most popular political party in Flanders is a downright fascist one is absolutely shocking.

<< Rich Alberta is giving money to poor Quebec to buy its obedience to Ottawa. >>

Alberta is backward because it's not an industrialized province. On the other hand Quebec is industrialized out of its own merit. Almost all the industrial estblishments are homegrown while in the rest of Canada, they're just subsidiaries of US companies like 7 Eleven Canada,Bell Canada, GM Canada and so forth. And they're bragging that these are "Made in Canada"? Anglo-Canada is nothing if it's living outside the American shadow. I would admire Australia more because it was able to stand on it's own without help from both Americans and the British.

It's the same as comparin Wallonia with Flanders. Yes, Flanders have higher standard of living based on one thing, textile. At least Wallonia can manufacture all types of industry from light to heavy.

France doesn´t allow Corsica, Alsace, Bretagne and Basque countries to speak the language and live the culture of their forefathers. So you cannot say as a Frenchman: Vive le Québec libre !

Regardless of language, you wouldn't grant them independence, so you cannot expect Canada to free Quebec.
