How to Pronounce "TH" after an "R" in Fa

It's difficult for me to pronounce words like, "northern", "further" and phrases like, "more than", "greater than", "before the".

Is it easier to pronounce "northern" than "north"? I would think that "north" would be harder to pronounce, as the "r" and "th" are in the same syllable.

Of course, then people with rhotic accents won't understand you, especially with that making "further" and "father" sounding the same.

>> This is not true. People with rhotic accent would still understand it. And further and father does not sound the same. Farther, on the other hand would get a bit confusing. But you'll just know from the context.

Well, I have a rhotic accent, and I would have trouble understanding someone dropping the r's.
