Worst People At Speaking English?

I think that despite one person speaks Spanish he may be good at speaking English . It depends on the person's ability to immitate sounds. In my case since I was a kid I was good at impersonating the way other people spoke and I think this helped me to acquire linguistic skills too. In general terms it's not good to rely on the similarities between your language and English because despite they may share similar sounds, these are not exactly the same almost always.

the Spaniards and hispanics in general

That's good beacuse the worse they speak English the more importance they give to Spanish. People who speak very good English like the Swedes or the Dtuch do it in detriment of their languages.

Who cares about Spanish? Just stupid kids (especially Americans and British) who usually forget it once they have finished with school.

Spanish is not the most popular language among British pupils. Spanish is more studied in France than in Britain by far.

"People who speak very good English like the Swedes or the Dtuch do it in detriment of their languages."

This is quite debatable. The Swedes generally speak very good English but at the same time are extremely proud about their own culture.

On the other hand nearly all Italians are ashamed of what they are, they love to use as much English words as possible but end up being absolutely unable (all of them) to articulate any English word properly. They are worse than Hispanics to that respect (and are aware of it).

The Swedes may be proud of their culture as much as they want but the point is: would you be willing to learn even a bit of Swedish given that the already speak good English? Maybe yes, but most of people would not because English is suficient to communicate with the Dutch or the Swedes. In the case of the Italians their poor command of English makes Italian more attractive to learn.

Sweden has always been a trading nation and its people have had to learn other languages to survive and prosper. It just so happens that English is the most useful tongue for them at the moment. Maybe in 100 years time it will be Russian.

I think if you live in Sweden you really should learn the language, otherwise you'll always be trapped in an English-speaking bubble and unable to fully embrace the culture. You couldn't socialise with a group of Swedes and expect them all to speak English solely for your benefit.

Why would Italians be ashamed? They have a wonderfully rich culture, great food, stylish clothes and shoes, great operas, beautiful designs, and fast cars. Have you been to Florence?

I have found that yes, some Italians cannot (or will not) speak English, but that's all to the good because it forces me to speak Italian. After hearing my Italian, I wouldn't be surprised if some started English lessons, lol.

I have to disagree with your sweeping words about (all of them) being unable to articulate any English word properly. Many people go to Italy on vacation and people who work in the tourist industry appear to speak English and French and some appear to speak German as well.

Well, I had to take four years of Spanish in high school. I did not want to, but it was my only Foreign Language option. Hence, why most of it was forgotten (that and I had a horrible teacher for 2 years).
Indeed, I'd say most forget it because they have no interest in it. Not stupidity, just lack of caring.

Don't complain, I had to take more than 4 years of English despite I had not interest on it. Annoying English is compulsory in virtually all countries' education system. They should give students more freedom in this field because learning a language you don't like can be a damn pain. Furthermore, learning a foreign language should not be a compulsory subject. I think that learning languages is overrated.

I should know how learning a language you don't like can be a pain, because I just don't like Spanish. Ironic considering that I married into a hispanic family and that my future children will most likely speak it.
I'd pity you, but they are beginning to do the same thing here- children are taking Spanish classes starting in elementary school.

I have to say Taiwanese.

I hear one Taiwanese say in English like this:

Iskusa mih, wazza diu'er land?(Excuse me, what's your name?)
Dank ko (Thank you)
Ma zyu gi mih a-ha?(May you give me a hand?)
Tanzin ki onley seyhuunti(Dancing queen only seventeen)

Generally Swedes speak good English.
But honestly some may not.
Some Swedes failed in learning English. But at least they know some English vocabularies.

A question:

Do you think guys people have bad English or any other language for the accent or for their very bad pronuntiation, grammar and vocabulary? and Do you think when a person studies a new language,he/she must speak with the same accent like natives? and if you think he/she must speak with the same accent like natives, then from which country? It means, If someone learns English from USA that person will have American accent.

Thank you
