The nature of prejudice

I was thinking about my attitude to the ‘Russian’ + ‘Mafia’ in the Tesco supermarket. It is funny how some words go together. The Unionist political parties in Northern Ireland deliberately referred to their political opponents as Sinn Féin + ‘IRA’. To draw attention to the fact, that the Sinn Féin political party was the political wing of the IRA (Irish Republican Army) which was carrying out a terrorist campaign against the forces of ‘Law’ + ‘Order’ in Northern Ireland, namely the Police; which was an almost entirely protestant force, and the army, which was of course the British army.

So when I find some Russian women doing something that my father would describe as being corrupt in Tesco, I automatically think (without thinking ‘Russian Mafia’). Yet this is something that my partner has been doing for some time. Possibly in a less obvious and less aggressive way. Also, my partner has been doing this with fruit and vegetables, things that she likes, rather than ‘beef + steak’, something that I place a high value on; something that I like to eat.

Does this make sense to you?

What the hell are you talking about? Russian mafia? Tesco? What the fuck were there Russian women doing? What the fuck were you and your partner doing that was similar to whatever the fuck the Russians were doing? Are you a fucking mafia member or what?

So can you at least explain what the fuck you're talking about? Do you think that we have read every fucking single one of your fucking posts and know what the fuck every reference you make is about?

Dear 'frustro'

I appreciate that your vocabulary range is limited. The point I am making is that certain words go together. Words like 'good boy' or 'rock and roll'. The words 'Russian' and 'Mafia' have in recent years gone together.

I reword this paragraph so that it makes more sense. For the record, I made a special trip on Sunday to complain, (off the record), to the Manager. We cannot have the Russian Bear eating the English ‘Beef-Steak’. If was salmon it might be different!

So when I find some Russian women doing something that my father would describe “as being corrupt” in Tesco, I automatically think (without thinking: ‘Russian Mafia’ [thinking without thinking = ‘habitual thought’]). Possibly it is a little unfair to think this way however it is a common word association.

My partner has been doing something similar in Tesco for some time. However on questioning her she told me that she was not doing it in the way that the Russian women were doing it (buying discounted food). She had carefully observed 'the system' and was only copying what other people were doing, and she had carefully observered what was considered to be an acceptable practice. Also she was friendly and shared with other people. Whereas the Russian women were selfish and greedy - primitive people who do not have the Christian faith!

I know that not all Russians are primitive or selfish etc. I also know that Russia has gone through a terrible time in the last hundred years and has always been a backward country.

Food is discounted to be bought, you idiot!
I believe these words go together very nicely indeed:

Fucking British cunt with ugly fucking teeth.

Robin Michael, what were the Russian women doing in Tesco's?

Dear Guest

There are a lot of Eastern Europeans in Aberdeen. This is a new phenomena, since 2004 Eastern Europeans have been allowed to work in the UK. Among the Eastern Europeans are Russians who were living in the Baltic States who are now a persecuted minority. There is also the occasional mail order bride.

I will see if I can find a story that you will find interesting.

So, cheap labour is not so cheap!

The court heard Baxter, who worked for the supermarket chain for more than seven years, contemplated suicide after her crime came to light.

He said: “She has lost her family a fortune. She spent her husband’s Christmas bonus gambling, she has had to have her home remortgaged, and her credit card bills are astonishing. She was always chasing that final jackpot at the roulette table.”

The solicitor added that between September and December last year Baxter spent more than £190,000.

Fiscal depute Alan Townsend said Baxter was described as “hysterical” when she confessed to the company’s operations manager.

Robin Michael, that is an interesting story, for which I thank you; but I would like to know what the Russian women were doing in Tesco's - the thing that your father would describe as being corrupt, and which your partner has been doing for some time with fruit and vegetables.

Robin Michael,

Your Tesco stories are curious. I give you credit for trying to work on your writing, but why do you tease us with the Russian mafia story? I don't think "mafia" when I hear the word "Russian". I think "roulette" "language" "vodka", maybe "bear" or "Orthodox".

He told us what happened in another thread. Go find it.

He shouldn't be a cunt and expect us to have read every thread he's ever written.
Uriel   Wed Nov 25, 2009 3:38 am GMT
You must be of the British/Commonwealth persuasion. Personally I think it's bizarre to call a man a cunt. In the US, the C-word is reserved exclusively for women, as in "bitch with a capital C".

However, we have an analogous relationship with the word "pussy", and use that to denigrate men. Sort of the same idea.

He's not really a cunt, he doesn't have balls for that, he's a little pussy tease...

Uriel, I have looked at other threads where Robin Michael mentions Russian women. I understand that they buy discounted food but I don't know what they do with it or why it is corrupt. It just sounds like shopping to me.

What is the secret?
