This may be the solution to avoid WWIII

<<Saudi Arabia, Russia, Brazil, India, South Africa, Canada and even Australia is the ones going to make lot of money, as natural resources in the west are becoming less and less. >>

Either that, or China will start a new era of imperialism or colonialism against the resource-rich countries.

Soon, nobody will be able to resist Chinese expansionism, and China will be able to grab any country they want, to get free access to the natural resources they need. Since China is also overcrowded, they may also grab the land of any land-rich countries for "living room" (once the current inhabitants are dealt with). Fun times ahead :)

That's very dangerous. Russia and India have nuclear guns. So, if China wants more land for living room, they only can grab it from Mongolia, if Russia doesn't care.

Anyway, a World crisis usually ends in a World war. For example, the World crisis from 1929 ended in the WWII.

So, if this World crisis doesn't end in two or three years, we will probably have "fun times ahead", like doomsayer says...

In 2 or 3 years, China won't have the military might (naval power, for example) to overrun the U.S. They'd also have trouble with Russia and Europe, whose nuclear weapons will still be a threat at that time.

The fun times for the West start a couple of decades from now (or later), when our nukes have decayed and we're too broke/old/tired to fix them. Before China starts overrunning countries, they'll also need an impenetrable nuclear shield (just in case), assuming they go about military conquest by the traditional ways.

Maybe they can just use clever propaganda, and make us become so politically correct that most Westerners gladly commit suicide to rid themselves of guilt over the centuries of horrific crimes against humanity that we've committed.

Bullshit. Countries with no natural resources like Nederlands and Japan are among the richest. Africa is full of (natural) resources but that's not enough.
John   Tue Jan 26, 2010 1:35 pm GMT
But that's why I'm saying in the future countries with large amount of natural resources will become richer and richer as the West and China need natural resources to develop their economies. If the West had as many natural resources they wouldn't even been in a recession in the first place.

Bullshit... India, Russia, Brazil all have a higher GDP than the Netherlands. Just behind the Netherlands you will find Saudi Arabia, Argentina, South Africa, Belgium, Malaysia.

Where is the Netherlands and Japan going to get their oil from in the future? Why do you think there is war in Iraq...... Some countries like America **cough** need these resources to remain a world power.
China is buying natural resources from Africa at a remarkable rate. Watch how China will dominate the world in 20 years from now.

Language: France is better than Germany in any way. Beach, Nuclear Power, Weather, Food, Widely spoken, Language, discipline & money is also at par.

World Dominance: Though I am from India I won't be bias. China has an artificially inflated economy relying big time on foreign investments and practically China isn't stable. If it collapses it will collapse like a a house of cards. Russian & Japanese economy is stubborn as their growth rate (%) have not changed much recently. India's economy is the world's most sustainable as it does not depend on others ( unlike China ).

Conclusion: What I believe is ...... USA might remain a superpower, India of course & Brazil ( perhaps ).

German is not as ugly as a lot of persons say. I had some german girl friends, and it was very sexy to hear them.

I wonder what has led people to believing German is ugly.

Britain should annex:

Southern Paddyland
Iceland
Faeroe Islands
Greenland
Heligoland
Calais + 10 mile surrounding buffer
Ile de Chausey
Ile de ousesant
Azores
Maderia
Danzig enclave (turn into a UK administered new Israeli state and UK freeport banking zone)
Send British officers to help the Flems reclaim Southern Flanders all the way down to the Somme and over to Rijsel (Lille)

+ reclaim the massive Dogger bank sandbank

It doesn't matter if the language is ugly or not.

At this moment the World has a population of 6,800,000.

A global language in the XXI century should be spoken by at least a 10% of the World population. Besides, it should be used as business language, in Internet and in World organizations.

Only four languages or group of languages are spoken by over a 10% of the World's population:

1. Chinese, Mandarin: 1,000,000

2. English (including all creoles): 1,000,000

3. Spanish and Portuguese: 750,000

4. Hindi and Urdu: 750,000

The last one fails in the second part. Hindi is not the business language of India, hardly used in Internet and not official in United Nations.

So, only English, Spanish and Chinese are becoming the World languages.

PD. German is spoken by some 125 million people in Central Europe, hardly a 2% of the World's population. It is not official in United Nations and the business language of the European Union is English nowadays, not German.

I am grateful for the British for preventing Belgium being annexed by France. Less grateful for their support for the Belgian Revolution nonetheless. The United Netherlands were of course a vast concurrent of the UK when it came to the trade of textile.
The French even have proposed this to the British: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/8/84/Partition-plan-Talleyrand-en.svg

I'm glad they didn't accepted this offer.

No one cares abut percentages. People care about innovations a nation offers and information you get access to. The cap of 10% is a result of an importance of a language, not a prerequisite IMO. You cannot become a language spoken by 10% if you're not advanced anyway.
Latin isn't that interesting anymore because we live in post-Renaissance times. It used to be however when too much different nations were forerunners on science and people needed to use some common language.
Perhaps when we get in contact with alien populations we'll need a neutral mode of communication again, or learn the most important language on their planet.

Whatever, German is still an interesting language, especially in Europe. No one has mentioned the global part here.
