Why do Republicans use the term "Democrat Party" instead of the actual name of the party, the Democratic Party?

Rush Limbaugh uses this terminology. If Republicans say "Democrat Party" it is kind of back-handed, meaning they aren't democratic.

I have heard this a few times. I wondered about it as well. Huh? The DEMOCRAT party? It sounds awful that way, but I was too lazy to look it up. I've always heard "He's a Democrat", but "The Democratic Party"

Their website says "Democratic" party. Democrat is short for "Demon" plus "crat", isn't it? Just kidding. I don't belong to that party or the Republican party either.
