What's your opinion on Francisco Franco?

Mexico is a bean-eating wasteland.

<< He was voted as the 22th greatest Spaniard to have ever lived on some TV show. I have talked to one Spaniard before who was opposed to him, but who claimed he WOULD have taken up arms for him during the Civil War because he considered him better than the Republicans.>>

Wow, that's what I call credible sources.
A TV show and one Spaniard you talked to.

Those are much more reliable than just acknowledging the fact that the Government he overthrown had been elected by the majority of Spaniards
(and he did it with the help of the latest weaponry from Nazi Germany, without it, there was no way he could have defeated the popular will)

TV shows are not reliable but very P.C. in Spain. If a serious suvey was carried in Spain about the most important Spaniard, probably Franco would win by far, or at least he would be in the top ten among El Cid, Isabel I, Charles V and Colombus. If most of Spaniards didn't support Franco he would have not ruled for 40 years. People would commit rebellion but the truth is Franco gave peace and prosperity to Spaniards and people lived happily.

TV shows are not reliable. A poll made by a TV show is even less reliable. Period.

If a serious survey was carried in Spain about the most DESPICABLE Spaniard, Franco would win by far.

But those are just "woulds".
Facts are that he overthrown a Government that had been elected by the majority of Spaniards, and he did it with the help of the latest weaponry from Nazi Germany, without it, there was no way he could have defeated the popular will. Spain was a testing ground for new methods of tank and air warfare that devastated half of Europe a few years later.

It is also a fact that he brutally prohibited any kind of opposition, and that's the only reason he ruled for 40 years.

I know of a million dead and several hundred thousand exiles who didn't live "happily".

Vencimos y venceremos.

Garzón a la cárcel! Viva nuestro Caudillo Francisco Franco.

Arriba España , una grande y libre!.

I think the most interesting thing about Franco is that his widow was made Grandee of Spain along with his daughter, whom King Juan Carlos made Duchess of Franco!!! Franco-s granddaughter married a member of the Spanish RF and their son, Franco's great grandson, is now the Legitimist / Carlist pretender to the French throne!

Franco wasn't supported by the Spaniards? Look:

Why didn't anybody shot him if he was such a devil according to leftist propaganda? It would have been very easy.

The most interesting thing about Franco is that he smashed the communists in Spain when it seemed that Spain was gonna become a communist country and a satellite of USSR in Western Europe.

How would the Cold War have gone if Spain had been another Cuba? Would it have been enough to turn the tables in the global struggle, or would it not have mattered in the end? Would Spain still be a Communist dictatorship like Cuba?

If it would have meant Communist victory, then not only Spain should be thanking Franco, but the whole civilised world.

I know, it's ridiculous, Spaniards fill their mouths talking about democracy and then the highest authority is chosen because of a birth certificate manipulated by a fascist dictator dead decades ago.
That's something that everyone, both in Europe or America laughs about.

In Asia they believe it's some kind of picturesque tradition like bullfighting, and that the Parliament is just a place for bullshitting (wise people).

Spain has invariably been brought down by its rulers, they even had retarded people rising to the throne because of their lineage. But what's even more despicable are those who justify these lack of democracy stating that Spaniards deserve it. And then they complain about Black Legends.
Garzón al paredón   Thu May 13, 2010 1:17 pm GMT
You talk as if Spain was the only country in Europe with monarchy. There are many more kingdoms in Europe: UK, Netherlands, Belgium, Sweden... Spain has a king because most of the Spaniards voted so in 1978. Also if Spaniards don't want to have a king nowadays they can vote for political parties that support Republicanism but these are marginal parties and nobody votes them. You must be a resented Spanish communist, give thanks that we don't kill you, because you are a nocive worm for the Spanish nation.
Penetra   Thu May 13, 2010 5:27 pm GMT
Spain was seriously in danger of becoming a communist country before Franco came into action. A picture is worth a thousand words:

The hypocrisy of the filthy leftists in Spain knows no limits. They complain about Franco but as this photo demonstrates, they supported Stalin who was a lot worse.
Jose Antonio   Thu May 13, 2010 5:55 pm GMT
<< You talk as if Spain was the only country in Europe with monarchy >>

Actually, Spain is the only country in Europe where the monarchy has full power over any other institution, more than the elected President and more than the military.

We all die one day Franco (I got you, pijo engreido comemierdas), and we all take our baggage with us. Baggage in this context is our actions.
You choose to kiss the asses of authoritarian figures, not because they deserve it, but because they are "the authority" and that way you justify yourself also, and you will go out of this world as the ass-kisser you are.
To me that would be a terrifying prospect. You probably know no better, being such a pijo parasite, but try to explain that to the Final Judge.

Add to that your insults to people because of their economic status, as you did with the Filipino who politely asked some advice on learning Spanish, and you'll understand that if there is a Hell, the low-life scum of your kind have accumulated all the probabilities of landing there.
