Semitic Languages
<<Based on grammar / experience, which Semitic language is more complicated to learn: Hebrew or Arabic? >>
I don't know, but Arabic is more used. The arabic alphabet is hard.
I think Hebrew and Arabic are not hard language to learn.
much easier than the tonal languages of the far east.
Arabic is a beautiful language.
Dutch and Spanish people should found the pronunciation much easier than others.
Arabic is much much more guttural than Spanish. I don't even pronounce the /x/ phoneme because I'm from from the South of Spain. For example, I pronounce the letter j in "pajaro" like the letter h in "he". How could I get used to arabic sounds? It would be difficult for me.
people over do the gutturalness of Arabic. It not that guttural if spoken clearly.
Moroccoan dialect, which is the arabic dialect I am more exposed to, is very guttural. When I hear arabic, just thinking about speaking that language causes me throat ache.
