"book leave"

Could someone tell me what "book leave" in the following sentence means. I tried to get the meang myself but couldn't find out.

"We will resume regular site updates when she returns from book leave and resumes writing regular columns"

She is most likely writing a book and took a leave of absense from writing during this time.

New York Times White House correspondent Elisabeth Bumiller is close to signing a deal with Random House to write a biography of Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. Ms. Bumiller plans to go on a yearlong book leave beginning in June. Reached by phone on Feb. 27, she confirmed her book plans but declined to discuss specifics.
