homecomers?

Is there an antonym for local? And, is there such a word like "homecomer"? What I am trying to express is:

"This old railway station is still there greeting nonlocal visitors as well as local homecomers."

What I meant by homecomers are people who return to their hometown from other places (maybe places where they work). Is this a correct sentence? If not, what words should I use?

I think:
1. "visitors" are always "non-locals";
2."homecomers" - who are back from a long absence, like from living in another country - a repatriate;
3.they, who come back from the places where they work, called commuters: they travel back and forth between home and work
