I have never heard "haunt down" before and it doesn't make much sense, I presume it is a simple spelling mistake. "Hunt down" means to hunt for a person, animal or object and is a common expression.

Yes, "haunt down" looks like a spelling mistake or possibly a transcription of someone's particular pronunciation of "hunt."

Either way, it's "hunt down" as "haunt down" is basically meaningless.
