Hi everyone,
I have a sentence that I can't fully understand what did the speaker mean:
"There were many grammar mistakes, but you did an awesome job"
Why did he use the word "but" and"awesome"?
In Vietnamese, the word "awesome" means "very bad, very terrible" (!)
The Vietnamese accent is very defferent from English so would you like to explain for me!
I think the sentence above have fully of grammar mistakes. Please show it for me!
Thank you very much!

Something that's "awesome" is "great/wonderful/amazing/incredible/cool." In other words, it's a good thing :)

This is how I'd correct your sentence...

"Hi everyone,
I have a sentence and I can't fully understand what the speaker meant:
'There were many grammar mistakes, but you did an awesome job'. Why did he use the words "but" and "awesome?" In Vietnamese, the word "awesome" means "very bad, very terrible" (!) The Vietnamese language is very different from English so would you like to explain this for me? I think the sentence above is full of grammar mistakes. Please point them out to me! Thank you very much!"

Hope that helps :)
