Number 7 in languages

Well, in English we also have the term "to be in seventh heaven" (seems to be pretty universal), "sailing the seven seas" and "lucky number seven". There are Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, the Magnificent Seven, the Dance of the Seven Veils, and the Seven Sisters (the constellation Pleiades).

In German they also say 'in seventh heaven' (im siebten Himmel)

In English we say 'on cloud nine' but in German it's 'auf Wolke sieben' (on cloud seven)

Offtopic okay, but what does 'cloud number nine' mean? I think I heard it in a Portishead song

'to be on cloud nine' means to be ecstatically happy.

There's a line from a Bryan Adams (I think) song: 'the weather is fine, up on cloud number nine....'
Or something like that.

The Seven Sisters (the constellation Pleiades) = Subaru (in Japanese).

14 = 2¹ x 7
28 = 2² x 7
57 = (2³ x 7) + 1.

I forgot another one in Serbo-Croatian - "hljeb sa sedam kora" ("bread with seven crusts" or something like that). It means that someone does a very hard job.

A fairy tale: ''Schneewittchen und die sieben Zwerge''
(Snow white and the seven dwarves) or is it dwarfs? Is ''Snow white'' written in one word?

Paul V, In regard to the seventh sence of the seven sences that you have listed - common sence. I believe, that it was Einstein who said that
common sence is deposits of prejudice in the mind before 17 years of age.

Title of an Iron Maiden LP: "Seventh son of a seventh son"

Snow White is usually two words. I'm used to seeing "dwarves" but I don't think "dwarfs" is incorrect -- I think it gets used in astronomy all the time.
