Which language do you think, is dead sexy? You can only pick one. Vote for the Sexiest language in the world (that you know of).

Francés

Interesting choice. Pourquoi le Francais?
Sigma   Fri Sep 15, 2006 9:30 pm GMT
Parce que c'est la langue de l'amour. Pas de question.

Funny, when you follow the link of in wikipedia ... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Language_of_Love you end up with some Swedish semi porno. I think when we're talking about sterotypes I think Swedish is quite sexy, if only for being the language of pornography. Together with Danish.
LAA   Fri Sep 15, 2006 9:38 pm GMT
Et pourquoi non espagnol? Italien?
Tiffany   Fri Sep 15, 2006 9:43 pm GMT
I suppose you are showing your bias as you'd choose those languages, no LAA? If it is so you are mighty predictable ;)
LAA   Fri Sep 15, 2006 9:52 pm GMT
Well, you know I like Spanish and Italian the most, Tiffany. That is no secret. I've told you that many times. I just think that French shouldn't hold a monopoly over romanticism. French is a lovely language, and a sexy language, yes. But Spanish and Italian can be just as amorous as well.

Anyway, what is your vote? So far, we have 1 for French, and one for Swedish.
Tiffany   Fri Sep 15, 2006 9:59 pm GMT
And admit bias? Never! Just kidding ;)

I can't believe you haven't figured out by now that I have a slight (maybe strong?) bias toward Italian. It's definitely the language of my great love - my husband :D
LAA   Fri Sep 15, 2006 10:43 pm GMT
No, that is what I naturally assumed. But, just in case, I asked you. If you don't mind me asking, why is it that you were rolling your 'r's since the age of six? Are your parents Spanish-speaking?
Tiffany   Fri Sep 15, 2006 10:50 pm GMT
I am from Miami, Florida, born and raised. I affectionately like to call it the "armpit of Cuba", because the Cuban population is the majority. I was probably rolling my 'r's before six (I had to play with someone didn't I?), but I began formal training in Spanish at that age.
LAA   Fri Sep 15, 2006 10:54 pm GMT
Perhaps someday, I will recieve formal training..... Until then, Pimsleur and the dictionary will have to do! As for Italian, I wanted to at least complete Pimsleur Italian 1A, but, the libraries here don't provide it. A while back I rented Portuguese 1A from the library, thinking it would be a piece of cake, since on paper, it looked almost like a weird dialect of Spanish. I did the first lesson or two, and then I returned it. It just didn't interest me.

Do you like sports, like say, basketball?
Tiffany   Fri Sep 15, 2006 11:13 pm GMT
As much as any other girl I know - which is not saying much... Why?
LAA   Fri Sep 15, 2006 11:25 pm GMT
I was just wondering if you like the Miami Heat. They have one of my favorite basketball players, Shaq, OUR old star center.
Tiffany   Sat Sep 16, 2006 12:10 am GMT
Hahaha. I have seen ONE Miami Heat game in person. I've seen a handful on TV as my mother occasionally watches basketball games (but only if she likes a certain player). I'm less inclined to watch unless someone asks me to and is into it. It's more fun to watch with someone who is passionate and I'll usually just cheer for whoever the given person is passionate about. However, if the Miami Heat were playing, I would probably cheer for the Miami Heat over others - just to show a little Miami pride.

Anyway, we are getting heavily off-topic! Back to languages.
