The meaning of ...

Could anybody, please, explain to me the meaning of the adverb "ridiculously" in the following sentence:

- "In a word, I am busy. Ridiculously busy."

Thanks.

I suppose it means very busy or terribly busy.

Though I suppose it could be translated literally into 'so busy as to be laughable and worthy of ridicule', 'ridiculously' is just being used as an intensive -- very, very busy.

I wrote my post as Jijia was posting. I agree.

Gjones2, Jijia ..

Thanks for the reply.

I have another question; what's the meaning of "put your life in perspective?"

To "put something in perspective" is to take a figuratively step back and see how it relates to the big picture, life in general. Usually a person needs to "put their life in perspective" when they find that they are worrying too much about little details, or feeling overly sorry for themselves, or thinking that their present problems are too much for them -- in other words, when they are fixating on one particular aspect too much.
