French vs German vs Spanish? Difficulty & Usefulness?

I WOULD LIKE TO SEE A VAST COMPARISON BETWEEN GERMAN AND SPANISH THAT PROVES THAT SPANISH IS HARDER! I would like to see the German side as well. Don't believe bullshit crap that you read online that says "it takes this long to learn this and this"

Danish Dutch and the rest of the Germanic languages, rest Icelandic and Faroese are WAYYYYYYYYYYYY simpler than German.

Dutch grammar is comparable to that of German. German is just slightly harder.

I'm learning 2 languages : English ans Spanish
For me Spanih is easier than English but people seems to think, here, that Spanish is the hardest language in Western Europe...
If you're English, French language will be easier to learn (that's sure !) but for a French Spanih will be easier...if you're German, English will be easier than Spanish, if you're Spanish, French will be easier than German !

Guest, do you know Dutch or German? Or both to say it's just "slightly" harder? Because it isn't just "slightly" harder

and grammar isn't the only difficulty in dealing with a foreign language. Dutch, for example, has other hardships that aren't grammar related at all.

Siegel,

"and grammar isn't the only difficulty in dealing with a foreign language. Dutch, for example, has other hardships that aren't grammar related at all."

DU warst doch derjenige, der geschrieben hatte "Dutch and the rest of the Germanic languages [...] are WAYYYYYYYYYYYY simpler than German."

Deine Betonung liegt scheinbar auf "way".

Jetzt frage ich dich Siegel, wie viel Ahnung hast DU von den anderen germanischen Sprachen, wenn du behauptest "Danish Dutch and the rest of the Germanic languages [...] are [...]"

I tell you again:
German is easier than spanish!!!
I am sure of that, don't insist, please!!!
Spanish is not easy, absolutely not!
Is very hard to understand us when we speak but also in the written form, I am sure; I am a teacher and I travelled a lot, I am sure of what I'm writing here.
Portouguese, Italian, Catalan etc are of course easier than spanish; french too.
I believe spanish is harder than albanian, croatian, greek and maltese too.

do you know German????????????? you teacher you!
Guest   Sat Mar 31, 2007 4:50 pm GMT
Ja Siegel Ja!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ich spreche Deutsch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
not perfectly but I speak it or, at least, I understand something because my boyfriend's parents live in German and so he taught me something!
And, mein lieber Freund, Ich bin sicher!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Siegel   Sat Mar 31, 2007 4:51 pm GMT
you don't speak it fluently, so stop :) I'm sorry, you're not in a position to judge :)

DU sagtest: "Danish Dutch and the rest of the Germanic languages, rest Icelandic and Faroese are WAYYYYYYYYYYYY simpler than German."
