How does ACCENT evolve？

Accent has always been in a state of evolution (whether it is slow or not), hasn't it? But how does ACCENT evolve？That is surely an intriguing issue, isn't it?

I can think of a few factors:

introduction and integration of non-native language
mass immigration and adoption of host country/region's language
language/dialect substratum influences
geographical isolation
prestige accents and "hip" lingo
