Linguistic "Glue" Words?

Has anyone else heard about this before? What do you think? Here is a link to a page citing some of the linguistic glue words for French:

It's an interesting concept and resource I'm excited about using.

I'm reposting this because the last one was sabotaged.

We have glue-like words in English as well. Once someone gets beyond basic request-making and greetings, these words are useful to bump up the level of speech in the target foreign language (i.e. French)...

I'm not a linguist, though, just a polyglot. Perhaps some of the linguists or people who have progressed well in a language could comment.

Maybe speakers of other languages could post their glue words.
