Candy,

=>Are people really not able to think of a username? <=

I think that's asking for too much.I mean, they don't have to logg in,they don't have to register, they have totall freedom of posting on this site...

I think we're overdoing it when we're going to ask then to choose a name.

guest: still sounds odd when you consider: "My capacity is more intelligent than you". "My capacity"?! And replace that with "computer's capacity" which is just as silly.

I get your point, the grammar books demand us to use complete sentences
to give more details. But this probably mislead us to make odd sentences,that's the barriers we come across.

<John>
>"don't be afraid of my capacity to be more intelligent than you"
and,
>"don't be afraid that my capacity IS more intelligent than you".
>The comparative is the same: my capacity, more intelligent than you.

I'm sorry but I think, to be more correct grammatically, we should say:
"Don't be afraid that my capacity is more intelligent than YOURS".

I feel now "Don't be afraid of my capacity to be more intelligent than you" could be paraphrased as "Don't be afraid of my capacity that I am more intelligent than you"

Anyway thank you all. Your discussions are very useful to me.

It is of course but that wasn't the point. The usage in question relates "capacity" to "you". See the earlier posts.
