Someone said, "The post seems to have run its course."
What does that mean?

If something has "run its course" it means it's over. It has done everything it can do and its course is over...

It also implies that it's gone on or persisted for the usual or typical period of time, and is now complete or at least winding down.

Example: "The fever has run its course."
