What do "thang" and "thug" mean?

"thang" = "thing" (there may be other meanings, too)

"thug" is a gangster, tough, street criminal, mugger, murderer, etc. -- someone who harms other folks, perhaps for a living. Example: Abu Musab al-Zarqawi
