Your answer is not understandable.
Sander   Wed Jul 06, 2005 8:14 pm GMT
Both of them are correct.
Frances   Wed Jul 06, 2005 9:18 pm GMT
I'd say 1 is more correct than 2. I suppose you'd make (construct) a pizza before you put it in the oven and then bake it...
Deborah   Thu Jul 07, 2005 2:57 am GMT
I agree with Frances. While it's perfectly OK to say 2, it could be interpreted as meaning that she's in the oven, making the pizza. Number 1 is clearer.

Hello,

I agree with Frances and Deborah..
2nd one is right!!!

Byezz...

How about these sentences

She's making a pizza.
She's baking a pizza.
Damian   Thu Jul 07, 2005 7:01 pm GMT
I wouldn't mention the oven at all...pizzas are made in an oven anyway, are they not? I'd just say "She's making a pizza!" and have done with it.

I love pizza! I don't care how she makes or bakes it, inside or outside the oven, I'd like a piece, please...especially if it's got peperoni! :-)

Where are you from? Although pizza is an Italian food, we put a lot of spices in it to make it taste good as we like eating chillies. Place an order right now, and you'll get one free of cost.
Deborah   Fri Jul 08, 2005 5:54 am GMT
I'd go with "she's making a pizza".
Damian from Edinburgh   Fri Jul 08, 2005 6:50 am GMT
.....Scotland, where the haggis comes from..... (it looks awful but actually tastes really, really good..honestly it does! People put garlic in it now) ..... but most of us really like spiced up foods as well so I will deffo place an order for the spiced up pizza...as soon as the lady's "made it". May I have a king size please? I love to chill with some hot stuff chillies....yummy. I could live happily in Italia if only for the food......and the ICE CREAM is something to die for. You know, most of the best ice cream outlets in Scotland are owned by people of Italian extraction.....they all have Italian names over the door. Bellissima!

“baking” is just a step in the process of “making” a pizza.

Why's Scottish English so different from the one the British speak ?

**Why's Scottish English so different from the one the British speak ?**

I think you mean so different from the one the English speak. The answer is because the accent of Scotland is derived from the old Scots language and it is very distinctive much as any other accent is. The Welsh accent is different again. Each nationality have their own type of accent when speaking English...it's easy to tell a French person or a German person or a Dutch person when they speak English.

Even those individual accents vary....some Scottish accents are easily distinguishable from the others.
