Hello,

What is the verb for fireworks? What should we use when we want to say that someone used a firework. Do we say crack firework? Or burst firework. I guess 'crack' refers more to the crackersso when we use a firework that that does not produce a sound 'bang' but sparkles only then what verb shold we use. And finallt what the right verb for useing fireworks.

Thanks

Thank you Brennus,

Will it be wrong to use 'crack fireworks' to mean 'set off fireworks'? what other verbs can we use?
Thanks

One would generally not use "crack fireworks" in actual usage: However, one can see and hear "to light fireworks", to refer to the actual act of lighting them itself, and "to shoot off fireworks", to refer to setting off fireworks that actually fly off in some manner.

Light, shoot off, and set off, and play with are the only terms I've ever heard used with firecrackers or fireworks.
