I don't know about "chic" but the most annoying trend of 2007, is the coining of new words using "man" as a prefix:

man-crush, man-date, man-hug, mancation, man-space, man-boobs, mankini, manties, manorexia, man friend, manscaping, mandals, mantique, man-spat, manny, man bag, man purse, mangina, man-slut, man-whore, etc.

Ugh! Enough already!

Another word I'd like to seal up permanently in the 2007 time capsule is "frenemy".

I totally agree with guest about Uber, but I'd like to add
- Bitch as in "How are you, bitch?" or "He's my bitch" includes bitchslap, of course lol.
- Pap as in take a picture, that comes from paparazzi.
