learned/learnt

I know that American English only uses the past tense form 'learned', but in British English is there a slight difference between whether you use 'learnt' or 'learned' for the present perfect.

For example, if I say 'I have learnt French' does that imply I am now fluent, whereas if I said 'I have learned French' it implies more that I learned (learnt? lol) some of it at some point but not necessarily to fluency?

I am a native BrE speaker and I was thinking about this the other day, whether there is some slight, subtle difference.
