If I want to learn a language let's suppose in my case English. Is it possible to learn it perfectly well if I just focus on reading and listening to the literature (both old and modern)that means no novels, no newspapers, no other type reading materials. Only literature.

Yes, you can learn good English that way, but your speech won't sound natural at all unless you also practice colloquial speech in some way. People never talk the same way they write, in any language.

That's exactly what I was looking for. So including movies and sitcoms is necessary into my learning. Yes, novels is a form of literature and I should not have written "no novels" there in my above post. Thanks Kef as usual for your help.
