Voici une expression à traduire : <vieux loup de mer>. Il ne s'agit pas d'un vieux poisson, mais d'un *marin* expérimenté et endurci. Comment la traduisez-vous dans les langues que vous connaissez ?

I've heard this: "a salty old sea dog". I've never seen it without "sea", but of course that does not mean that it is not valid without it.

There is "(The) Sea-wolf" by Jack London. "Wolf" is the name of the main character though, or his nickname.
