I have been learning Russian now for a short time. I cannot seem to roll my R's so it is tough to pronounce many words. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can learn to roll my R's?

for singing i had to roll my R's when doing the Italian songs...to roll R's it takes practice but how we tqught my friend is:
1)relax your tongue 2)exhale a fast, strong breath 3)practice, once you get the hang of it, you'll be able to do your words better Russian's a pretty cool language to take up, good luck with it!

Pronunciation of Russian “R” is a matter of practice. No worth fearing it. Lots of children can’t cope with the sound up to school age, 7 years, and have to take specialist services.
There’s a simple way – pronounce as many words containing “R” as possible: raketa /rocket/, rokot, rjov /roar/, razreshenie /permission/, etc. http://www.kaikracht.de/balalaika/english/pronounc.htm |
