It means, "There is no Mecca, there is no Allah - death to the muslim infidels."

Sorry, that's Coca Cola backwards in Arabic. 'Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious' means 'really rather good'.

Hi Chantal,

"Anticonstitutionellement" is actually the longest French word. Safe, of course, if you regard ADN (Acide Désoxyribose Nucléique) as a single word.

What is the longest English word containing no letter more than once?

There are two 15-letter words that we know of: uncopyrightable and dermatoglyphics.
longest word   Sunday, October 12, 2003, 20:14 GMT

I have read that the longest word in the English language is 1,909 letters long and it refers to a distinct part of DNA. Is this true?

A 'word' of 1,909 letters cannot be a genuine word but must be a chemical name for the whole of a human chromosome which would run to many thousands of letters, but we would not consider it a word in the sense of an item of English vocabulary

In the case you point out, "..", I think we would call it a number rather than a word. ;)

There's a largest word, but there is no largest number, the last letter is z, there is no last number.

Deoxyribonucleic acid is far from being the longest English word.
French must be a really pathetic language if acide désoxyribose nucléique can be even thought to be longest word by those who regard it as a single word.
messire lavoisel   Sunday, October 12, 2003, 22:14 GMT
??

Your standards to judge a language are quite curious Monsieur A.S.C.M...
Anyway, a bit of anti-frenchism is not enough to upset me, if that was the purpose of your post. If that was not please excuse for that mistake, and allow me to inform you that long words are not what make a language great. Personally, I restrain from trying to outline some sort of category and hierarchy regarding languages. After all, one of the most sadly famous man who did it was called "Hitler".

Regards.
