Flap ''t'' vs. ''d''

In my observation, quite often, a lot of people d as a flap too in a certain circumstance. As for a flapped t and a normal d, i think the difference is that in a flap t or d, the tongue touches the part behind your top teeth and for a normal d, first, the tongue securely blocks the air coming out at the back of your top teeth and then the air pops out.
