What's the difference?

Is there any considerable difference between " elsewhere" and "somewhere else"? Could you give some exaples?

Elsewhere is more formal.

Failing to find his friend in the forest, he continued looking for him elsewhere. (literary)

If the meeting's not in here, it's gotta be somewhere else. (casual/oral)
