"as though"

Could anyone teach me how to use it?

as though ~ seemingly, seemed like, apparently, as if

e.g. This guy is so hyperactive. It's as though he's on speed (the drug).

He look so scared it was as though he had seen a ghost.

Its not as though I couldn't afford that car, I just didn't want it.


Its basically a slightly more formal way of saying 'like'.
