"good catch" and "good call"

what do they mean and how can the be used?

"Good catch." is used to congratulate someone who finds a mistake. It could also possibly be used to congratulate someone who caught something well, of course. But I assume you already knew that...

Person 1: You spelled "the" wrong.
Person 2: Good catch.

"Good call." is used to tell someone they made a good decision. It comes from the sports term "call", which is a decision made by the referee/umpire. I've heard it used for any decision, however.

"Good catch" can also be used to describe someone who'd make the perfect spouse or partner.
