I hope you to enjoy this topic

"I hope you to enjoy this topic" and "I hope you enjoy this topic" are equivalent forms or one of them is more correct than the other? And, if one of them is not valid, why not?

They are both correct if you change "I hope you to enjoy this topic" to "I hope you, too, enjoy this topic" or "I hope you, also, enjoy this topic"

"I hope you to enjoy this topic" isn't right; "I hope you enjoy this topic" is right. There's isn't any real reason for it, but this kind of sentence will always take the form "I hope you (verb)", and NEVER "I hope you to (verb)".

If you use "want" instead of "hope" it's just the opposite.

All of the following are good (but they don't all mean exactly the same):

I want you to enjoy this topic.
I hope you enjoy this topic.
I hope you will enjoy this topic.
