A trap is any kind of device or situation that catches and constrains people by surprise.

Entrapment is a legal term used to refer to illegal enticement to commit a crime. For example, an undercover police officer who robs a liquor store in order to persuade someone else that it is okay, who then robs a store himself, is engaging in entrapment.
