Latin or German? Which languages have influenced English more?

I'm pretty sure English is most related to :

-(most) Frisian , West Frisian especially
For instance : In Frisian people say dinsdei , wich has the meaning as tuesday + it's almost pronounced the same.

-(less) Friso Frankish West Flemish or the shorter term Zeelandic ...
For instance : In zeelandic you have the term "gabbe", which has the same meaning as the English term "gab".

I think that when it comes down to it, English is a real international melting pot of language influences. In a way, I guess that makes it a true 'world language'.

I've heard English described as a Germanic language with a BIG Romance (Latin) "overlay"
