Natives - can you understand the clips?

I've got only 50% at first listening.

into golf...ever tried?...not my kind of a game...whispering...nearest course six hundreds miles away.

When I listen to a certain accent or a person it takes some time to accomodate to his/her pronunciation.

In fact most people speak with their individual peciliarities. They merge sounds and use certain contractions.

With more practice our ear and mind get skill in this complicated speach recognition process.

I'm afraid you can't. I ripped them from the DVD.

If you want to hear an English dialect that is impossible to understand, rent the movie "The Acid House" It actually has subtitles for the scenes where the dialect is spoken.

I think it's some sort of Welsh dialect, but I'm not sure.

I had to turn that movie off less than 5 minutes into it. If I am not mistaken, it takes place in Scotland, although I have no idea if it is Scots or Scots-Gaelic or just Socttish English.

Another good movie to hear a hard to understand(at least for me) dialect is the movie 'kes'. I'm not sure what the dialect is for that one either, it is an english(England) dialect. They use 'tha' a lot.
