The name of the country

One of the most beautiful sights in the world are the huge signs "WELCOME TO SCOTLAND" on all the roads crossing the border out of England, complete with the Thistle emblem. ;-)

Going into Wales out of England the signs are bilingual: "CROESO I GYMRU / WELCOME TO WALES". The emblem is a red dragon.

How about going the other way, into England, is there a "Welcome to England" sign ... or does it just say "How are you enjoying Britian?"

I think Scotland is a completely separate nation within Britain which has been intelligent enough not to try to secede again after a failed attempt in the 18th century, while at the same time maintaining its own institutions and traditions which distinguish it from England.

Ori,

Thanks for the Hebrew translations of England and Great Britian" . I have studied mostly Indoeuropean (or Indo-Germanic) languages and don't know much about the members of the Semitic family (Hebrew, Maltese, Arabic, Amharic etc.) which are structurally quite a bit different.
