Thanks a lot!!!

The Californian pronunciation of ''law'' is ''lah''.

I've always pronounced Laurie to sound like "lorry". That's why an alternate spelling of Laurie is Lori.

I'm from California, btw.

I've heard it pronounced LAHRI in an American film.

I have a cousin named Lori, so I pronounce Laurie the same way.

I'm from Caliornia and I pronounce Laurie and Lori the same. Both are 'lorry' like Elaine's pronunciation.

"I've heard it pronounced LAHRI in an American film."

Maybe her name was Lari or Lara.

I'm from California, and I pronounce it like Nic, Elaine and Canaws do...I pronounce Lori and Laurie as [lo:ri]. [lari] ("lah-ree") could very well be an American pronunciation of "Laurie" as well, but it sounds particularly East-Coast to me.

I will say both "law-ree" and "loh-ree", but "law-ree" was the predominant pronunciation in Miami. When I saw "law", I mean we use the same vowel that is found in the cot-caught merger.

Note: "law-ree" is not pronounced the same as the man's name "Larry"

For me: /lo:ri/ (Southwest USA)

I pronounce law as /lO/ or /lA./.
