How do you pronounce it? Write not in the wierd symbolic language, please.

I've heard 'con-stable' and 'cun-stable'. Where is each one used?

It can vary. Your average UK copper (ie police constable) is often referred to as "CUN-stubl", but not exclusively. Regional variations can occur - whether it's "Cun" or "Con". But the landscape painter John Constable (1776-1837), who hailed from the Suffolk/Essex border area of East Anglia, (famed mostly for his Hay Wain and Flatford Mill paintings) is, as far as I can tell, universally referred to as "CON-stubl".

I don't like the 'cun' pronunciation because it sounds like 'cunt'.

I myself say [ˈkʰãnʲtʲsʲtʲəːbɯː] for "constable" (that is, "CON-stuble").
